Please know that these are some rules and consequences set up for the protection and character of PHAT Youth Ministries and New Hope Assembly of God. This includes the students, the leadership, parents, guests, and other churches that we will interact with. These rules should also apply to Sunday school. The most important thing to remember is that you represent the Body of Christ and the Kingdom of God. It is up to you if you make it a good or bad representation.
Rules
- NO PDA (Public Display of Affection)
- No hugging all over each other.
- No 'touchy feely'.
- No holding hands.
- No kissing.
- Basically, if you are dating someone, no one else needs to know. This is in lieu of those who don't find it necessary to talk with leadership about dating.
- No running around in the church while service is going on - stay seated and respect God's house.
- NO DRAMA- Deal with your problems like mature teens should. If you have a problem with another youth, speak to that person first then bring it to a leader or parent.
- No foul or inappropriate language. If you don't have anything good to say, then don't say it at all.
- No talking during service. This includes communion, prayer, preaching and worship. This also applies to Youth Xplosion and other events we may go to. You will sit with your parents or leadership if this becomes a problem.
- Do not leave the youth room until you are dismissed.
- There should NEVER be a guy and girl by themselves unless you are related.
- Do not hit, kick, punch, pinch, or do anything else that would hurt someone (unless it is part of a planned function or game).
- No smoking or drinking.
- Stay together as a group when at any youth functions ("group" means everyone in the youth, not just your clique).
- If you're going to play, you're going to work. This includes concession, youth events (cleaning), etc.
- The leadership team must approve any and all signing, singing, or drama. We will decide based mainly on your attitude and behavior prior to the event. You will be required to meet with leadership and show what you plan to do. No more automatic ministering.
Consequences
- If it is on this list:
- First offense: a warning from one of the leaders.
- Second offense: a talk with you and your parent/guardian, and to miss out on a Sunday night youth service.
- Third offense: missing out on the next youth function which could include, but not limited to, Youth Xplosion, concerts, festivals, youth convention, retreats, etc. Any money applied to the function will not be refunded.
- Fourth offense: you will be dismissed from Sunday night youth services for three weeks.
- Any offense after this: if you still can't get the point, you will be dismissed from PHAT Youth Ministries.
- If a situation comes up that is not on the list, it will be addressed as a group and could result in tougher consequences. If you don't want it brought up with the group, don't do it.
